ResumeDr. Jian Ji is currently a professor of geotechnical engineering at Hohai University, Nanjing, China. He earned a Ph.D. from the Nanyang Technological University (NTU) of Singapore in 2012. His research interests include numerical analysis of geo-technical problems with probabilistic considerations, slope stability and landslide mitigation, ground excavation and earth retaining systems, underground pipeline safety, etc. He received the 2018 Outstanding Paper Award from the Elsevier's international journal Computers and Geotechnics. Dr. Ji is an Associate Editor of the journal <Advances in Civil Engineering>, editorial board member of international journals <Computers and Geotechnics>, <Marine Georesources & Geotechnology>. He is an elected ASCE Member and technical commitee member of ISSMGE-TC201. He also serves as associate director of the Geotechnical Research Institute, associate director of the International Affairs Office of Hohai University. Before his current academic position in China, Dr. Ji worked as Level-B Research Fellow and Co-Lecturer for master’s unit CIV-5887 at the department of civil engineering of Monash University, Australia, 2014-2017, and as a geotechnical engineer in Ecas-EJ consultants of Singapore, 2012-2014.
