Xuteng

Xu Teng, male, Han ethnicity, born in Chongren County, Fuzhou City, Jiangxi Province, China. Professor and Doctoral Supervisor at the College of Water Conservancy and Hydropower Engineering, Hohai University. National Young Talent and Distinguished Professor of Jiangsu Province.

He received his Ph.D. in Hydro-Environmental Engineering from Universitat Politècnica de València, Spain, in 2014, and a second Ph.D. in Groundwater Science and Engineering from China University of Geosciences (Beijing) in 2016. From May 2015 to December 2017, he worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the Research Institute of Water and Environmental Engineering, Universitat Politècnica de València, Spain. From March 2018 to December 2019, he worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute for Stochastic Modeling and Safety Research, University of Stuttgart, Germany. In September 2019, he returned to China and joined the College of Water Conservancy and Hydropower Engineering at Hohai University as a Professor and Doctoral Supervisor.

His main research interests include contaminant source identification and solute transport modeling, stochastic hydrogeological model development, groundwater parameter inversion and uncertainty analysis, groundwater environmental assessment, hydrogeological risk assessment, and groundwater resource management. In recent years, he has led one National Young Talent Project, one General Project of the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), one project topic under the National Key Research and Development Program of China, and one Fundamental Research Funds for the Central Universities project. He has also primarily participated in two research projects funded by the Spanish Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness and one research project funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG). He has published 47 papers: 37 SCI papers, among which 26 are as first/corresponding author (with 21 published in the four top-tier journals in water resources: 6 in Water Resources Research, 4 in Advances in Water Resources, 10 in Journal of Hydrology, and 1 in Hydrology and Earth System Sciences). He has also published 10 papers in EI and Chinese core journals, including Advances in Water Science, Journal of Hydraulic Engineering, and Water Resources Protection (4 as first/corresponding author). He holds 14 authorized invention patents and 9 utility model patents. He has published 1 monograph (as first author) and 1 edited volume in English. He serves as a Guest Editor for Frontiers in Earth Science. He was a member of the Organizing Committee for the 10th International Geostatistics Congress (Geostats 2016) and is a member of the Groundwater Subcommittee of the Chinese National Committee for the International Association of Hydrological Sciences (CNC-IAHS). He has also served as a long-term reviewer for several renowned international journals in the field of water resources and the environment.
