At present my main research direction is the effect of the west Pacific warm pool on the ocean-atmosphere climate system and global change in the late Quaternary. I had reconstructed the evolution of the upper structure of water body and the hydrological variation since 360 ka by means of geochemical analysis (including Mg/Ca,d18O, d13C) of multiple planktonic foraminifera. With the results of reconstructed sea water temperature and d18O, and an integration of other published SST and sea water d18O data, I aimed to indicate the ENSO-like process, hydrological cycle in relation to ITCZ shift and different climatic background, and the teleconnection between tropical SST variation and global ice volume change.
