ResumeDr. Xiaolu Zhu is currently an associate professor at Hohai University, China. He graduated from Southeast University in 2007 and obtained the PhD degree in 2014. He worked as a research scholar of mechanical and aerospace engineering department, and chemical and biomolecular engineering department at University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) from Sep. 2011 to Dec. 2013. He is working on the interdisciplinary areas incorporating engineering and bioscience, especially the micro-nano bio-systems involving cell-hydrogel interaction and biomechanics/ mechanobiology in 3D/4D, which can be applied in cyborg and bionic systems, and artificially living micro-structure regeneration. His work is mainly focused on understanding and controlling the self-organized three-dimensional (3D) patterns of cells for regenerative medicine, and the nanosensors based on polymer materials.
